Albania Parking Guide
Parking zones, costs, and tips for every major Albanian city.
Tirana
- Free parking: nights (20:00-08:00), Sundays, and bank holidays.
- Pay via ParkAlbania app (10% service fee) or SMS with an Albanian SIM card.
- Covered garages available: 10-15 EUR for 24 hours.
Durrës
Paid parking along the promenade and city center: 1-2 EUR/hour.
Parking is very scarce during summer beach season. Arrive early or park further from the coast.
Vlorë
Paid parking along the main boulevard and beachfront: 1-2 EUR/hour.
In peak summer (July-August), parking near the beach is nearly impossible. Consider parking inland.
Sarandë
Paid parking along the promenade and city center: 1-2 EUR/hour.
Sarandë is extremely crowded in summer. Hotel parking is rare — ask your accommodation in advance.
Berat
Mostly free street parking. Limited spaces near the castle and old town (Mangalem quarter).
Park in the lower town and walk up to the castle — the roads are too narrow for most cars.
Gjirokastër
Mostly free parking. Limited spots in the UNESCO old town center.
The old bazaar streets are pedestrian-only. Park at designated areas near the main road.
General Parking Tips
- Never park in spots "claimed" with chairs, ropes, or markers.
- Parking violation fine: 500 ALL minimum + 4,000 ALL if towed.
- Outside major cities, most parking is free and informal.
- Beware of informal "parking attendants" in tourist areas who may charge a fee.
